RealTracks Artist Bio: Juan Jiménez
Juan Jiménez is an LA-based Guitarrón mexicano player. The Guitarrón is a large, deep-bodied acoustic bass with 6 strings. It is traditionally played in mariachi groups, which is Juan's speciality. He performs with Mariachi group "los Camperos de Nati Cano". With this group, he performed at the World Music Institute's 'National Heritage Masters' series concert in 2008. The series celebrated twenty-five years of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) National Heritage fellowships, the United States' highest honor in the traditional arts.
