RealTracks Artist Bio: Shobhit Banwait
Shobhit Banwait is a Canadian tabla & dholak player who has toured and performed alongside some of Bollywood's biggest music stars including Ali Zafar, Yo Yo Honey Singh, Gippy Grewal, Sidhu Moosewala, Sharry Maan, Jassie Gill, and many more. He was born and raised in Toronto, and has been playing tabla and dholak professionally since the age of 18. He gained worldwide attention when pop star Sia personally recognized Shobhit for mixing tabla over her smash hit, "Cheap Thrills", in a popular youtube video. That led to live interviews on CBC, Hindustan Times, NDTV, Buzzfeed, and other news outlets around the world. Shobhit also collaborated was with Lost Stories, an Indian DJ duo based in Mumbai India, to release an official tabla remix of their song "Faking It."
